2026-2027 Membership Registration Form - New Families

We are excited that you are joining VHS!

The following steps must be followed to process your Membership for the 2026/2027 School year.

1. Complete PI-1206 information below.

2.  Agree to VHS Documents

3.  Select a Volunteer Commitment from the list

4.  Submit this form.

You will be notified once your membership is approved.

 

Families may rejoin through October 31, 2026; however, accounts that are not renewed by June 30 will be deactivated.

Membership is valid for one school year, from July 1 through June 30. All memberships expire at the end of the school year.

Please note that the membership fee is non-refundable.  If registration fees will present a financial difficulty for your family, please contact the member coordinator at: [email protected]

 

Registration Dates & Costs:

  • Early Bird Registration (Best Savings!):
    • Dates 4/1/26 to 4/30/26
    • Fee: $40.00 per family
  • Regular Registration:
    • Dates: 5/1/26 to 10/31/26
    • Fee: $50.00 per family
  • Late Registration:
    • Dates: 11/1/26 to 3/31/27
    • Fee: $175.00 per family
    • No volunteer commitment required when joining during this time period.

Agreements

By signing below  you are agreeing to be bound by the Valley Home Schoolers terms and conditions set forth below:

  • I/we have filed or will be filing the WI DPI form PI-1206 this Fall for at least one child.
    VHS members must file the Wisconsin DPI form PI-1206 or intend to homeschool if the child is under six years old.
    Charter school or online school students are usually not considered homeschooled.
  • I/we have read, agree with, and agree to uphold, support and abide by the VHS Bylaws.
  • I/we have read, and confirm my complete & unconditional acceptance of the terms, conditions & provisions of the VHS Liability Waiver.
  • I/we grant VHS permission to use photographs or videos that may feature my family in connection with VHS. The photos or videos may appear on the VHS Facebook page or on the VHS Public Website or other websites as deemed appropriate. I/we understand that VHS cannot be responsible for pictures taken at VHS events and shared.
  • I/we agree NOT to share and keep all member listings and contact information confidential. They are for MEMBERS ONLY and are not to be used for solicitation or any other non-VHS purpose of any kind.

Please upload your most recent DPI-1206 Homeschool Enrollment Report.  Please do not file earlier than necessary for the purpose of providing the report to VHS.  If you have not yet been required to file, please skip this step and proceed to the next question.

VHS Volunteer Commitments

VHS values the time, talents, and dedication of our members. The strength of our community comes from families who volunteer their skills and support to help our programs thrive. Without these contributions, many of the opportunities available to our students would not be possible. Volunteer commitments are the heart of our community. By sharing your time and talents, you help create meaningful opportunities and experiences for all VHS students and families.

In accordance with our member expectations, one member from each family is required to contribute during each annual membership year by selecting a volunteer commitment from the list of options presented each year.

There are many ways to fulfill this commitment, with opportunities ranging from administrative and leadership roles to hands-on event support. Some commitments are one-time events, while others are short-term or ongoing throughout the year. Members are encouraged to choose roles that best match their interests and skills.

Members who would like to propose a new activity are encouraged to contact the Board to ensure it meets basic requirements and aligns with VHS programming.

Important Notes:

  • Volunteer commitments do not automatically carry over from year to year. A new sign-up will be sent out each school year. Members interested in continuing a leadership (chair) or coaching role they previously served in should contact the Board for consideration.
  • If a commitment is not fulfilled during the school year, the member will automatically be charged the buy-out fee for that year. If circumstances arise that may prevent your family from fulfilling the commitment, please contact the Board to discuss alternative options.
  • Members interested in coaching a sports team where there is a need, should complete the Coach Application in the FAQ section of the website or contact the Board for more information.

Volunteer Commitment Buyout Information:

We recognize that due to varying circumstances, a member family may be unable to fulfill a commitment. To accommodate these members, a family may elect to pay a "buyout" fee of $150.00 in lieu of fulfilling a commitment. As our community is only as strong as the members contributing to it, a maximum of 30 families may select this option, which will be only be available while until that maximum is reached.

The buyout option cannot be selected after you've completed member registration or renewal for the year without contacting the VHS Board of Directors.

If you choose this option your VHS account will be invoiced and due upon receipt.

If I choose to complete a volunteer commitment for the coming school year, I understand that it is my responsibility to sign up for and fulfill this commitment. If I do not complete my selected commitment I understand that I will be charged the buyout fee by default.

It is also my responsibility to see assistance with my volunteer commitment if I am unsure how to begin.  I also agree to notify the VHS committment coordinator if I am unable to complete the commitment I selected and need to be assigned a different one.

If I selected the Volunteer Commitment buyout option, I understand that I will be sent an invoice, and it is my responsibility to pay the invoice upon receipt.
